The first club night back after the summer break was used to repair some of the club kit that had seen better days.
During the year we take Amateur Radio out to our District Groups where we run Introductory events and Communicator Badge activity work. This programme takes its toll on our equipment, especially the ‘home brew’ Morse keys and oscillators
We decided that as well as reparing the kit we would also carry out some modifications on the Morse keys as they were really showing signs of fatigue. It was decided to upgrade from the original plastic peg design to a stronger wooden peg model based on a design by club member Roy.
The new keys look great and a full construction article will be placed on this website to allow other Groups to manufacture their own.
