Radio Club visits the 59th Beavers

The Radio Club visited the 59th Beavers tonight and as well as having a great time we helped the Beavers to do badge work for their Explore Activity, Communicator Activity and Personal Challenge Award Badges.

Everyone (Beavers and Radio Ops.) enjoyed the evening with all the Beavers working hard to achieve their Badges. Well done!

Scout Communicator Badge Night

Tonight we had a very successful evening where the first of two groups of Scouts from the 85th Greenock and District Group, from Inverkip, achieved their Communicator Badges and enjoyed lots of fun radio related activities.

Jamboree on the Air/ Jamboree on the Internet (JOTA/JOTI) 2018

Once again the Radio Club was active as GB0GDS for the JOTA weekend, making numerous radio contacts with Scout Radio Stations all over the World. Our station made 360 radio contacts in 54 countries. They had plenty of Scout contacts within the UK, some making contact several times to ensure everyone had a chance to talk to another Scout.
We also took part in Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI ) where we gave visitors the opportunity to interact with the virtual the Jamboree Camp Site and play Minecraft on the Scout server as well as a locally developed Augmented Reality activity for the younger visitors.
