Enjoy, The Radio Team
South Newton is 40 years old!
On Saturday the 22nd October the club put on a radio event for Girlguiding Renfrewshire to celebrate South Newton’s 40th Birthday.
A special day of activities had been planned for all sections with radio operating being one of these.
Over 150 Rainbows and Brownies visited the Radio Station which used the special event call sign –GB0GGR .
The station was operated by Scout Active Support members Bob Lynch, George & Kai McClintock and Guide Leader Eunice Lynch.
Many of the young people and their leaders were able to use the station under supervision and pass greetings messages to amateur radio operators across the country. Contacts were also made with operators in Russia, Bulgaria, Greece and Italy. A great day was had by all!!!
